Framer Adds Variable Fonts Support to Design Platform

Framer has introduced comprehensive Variable Fonts support across its platform, revolutionizing its typography system. The redesigned Font Picker now organizes fonts into dedicated sections for Google Fonts, Fontshare, and Variable fonts, with enhanced filtering capabilities for both web and custom fonts.

Designers can now access Variable font controls directly within the property panel, alongside OpenType features. Different typefaces offer varying levels of customization - from extensive options in fonts like Roboto Flex to essential adjustments for Width, Weight, and Slant in others.

This update seamlessly integrates with Framer's existing typography features, including Fit Text, Text Balance, Text Effects, Text Masking, and OpenType capabilities. Variable Fonts can now be animated through Component Variants and Interactions, opening new possibilities for dynamic typography design.
